A new system is established to strengthen the borders of the Schengen Area by pre-checking the data of travelers before they enter the zone ,known as ETIAS.
ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System. This is a visa waiver programs that allows visa-free nationals to board a carrier to travel to the Schengen Zone. This program is expected to come into effect by the end of 2021 in order to reduce procedures and wait times, as well as address the security concerns.
The ETIAS will undergo a detailed security check of each applicant to determine whether they can be allowed to enter any Schengen Zone country.
People can use ETIAS to travel to Schengen Zone with different purposes. Beside tourism and business, it will also allow people to visit the Schengen countries for medical and transit reasons.

There are more countries that might be added to this list time to time. There are some country in this list that currently have free visa travel to Schengen area but this will change when ETIAS is implemented.
Step 1: Filling out the application form online. It only takes up to 10 minutes and applicants will need to answer a series of questions by entering basic information such as their name, address, date of birth, and passport details. There will also be some questions regarding health and security.
Step 2 : Submitting the application. When you complete the application, you will have to pay the fee and submit it.
Once you submited your application, it will be manually processed. The manual processing is expected to take about 96 hours (4 days), or a maximum of 2 weeks.
It is planned to have the ETIAS cost only €7 for each application. This is only valid for adults over 18 years old, as those under 18 will not have to pay any fees. You can pay the fee by debit or credit card. Immediately after you complete the payment, the ETIAS authorization will start processing.
The ETIAS will be valid for a period of three years, during which you will be able to enter the European Union member states, by plane, land or sea as many times as you wish.
